πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰ HK Family Activities 15-16 Aug πŸŽ‰

Hello Reader

Summer's winding down finally and kids are back at school - can we all breathe a collective sigh of relief? πŸ˜… Although of course, a tiny part of me already misses hanging out with them so here's some ideas for what to do this weekend!

1. Sheung Wan: β€œFantastic Fairy Tales” β€” Relaxed Performances Available

A lovely stage show for little ones (recommended 3+), and importantly: they offer relaxed performances on 15 August (11am & 3pm) where kids can move around, make noise, and take breaks. Perfect for families with sensory needs or just wiggly kids.

2. Pokfulam: Postman Chen’s Village & Ranch Walking Tour

Walk through time with stories of HK’s β€œlegendary postman” who documented Pok Fu Lam for decades. A cultural gem, totally unique, and just HK$120/person. Morning session, 1.5 hours β€” manageable even with younger kids if they’re decent walkers. I think this might be Canto only

3. Various: Summer Family Cinefest

Last call this weekend for the Summer Family Cine Fest β€” closing out Sat/Sun with four screenings (Tales from the Magic Garden, Mumbo Jumbo, Miss Moxy, Living Large) at the Film Archive and Space Museum. Think a giant hippo on the run, a cat trekking home across Europe, a grandkid's storytelling magic, and a coming-of-age tale about body image β€” something for every age in the family.

4. Sha Tin: Firefly Forest Tour

This is genuinely magical β€” a dusk hike through one of HK’s hidden firefly hotspots. Who knew?! It looks like walking into a Studio Ghibli film. HK$270 per person, runs 4pm–9pm. Book ahead because it sells out fast.

Hello Reader Is the weather finally getting a little cooler? My fingers are crossed! πŸ˜… Here's my picks for the upcoming weekend - proud to say I learnt something new today which is that dino fossils were discovered in HK (I'm picturing T-Rex roaming around Wanchai)! Also included a couple upcoming runs that require pre-registration, as well as a pub quiz for a good cause! 1. Tsuen Wan: D-Park baby carnival If you've got a crawler at home (6-25 months), this is their moment to shine. Free BB...

Hello Reader First red rain on a school day - I guess we're lucky that this year has had minimal weather related disruptions (so far!) but I am in awe of how HK parents deal with this on a regular basis during typhoon season! Thank god for condo indoor playrooms and light rain play πŸ˜… Anyway, here's my picks for the upcoming weekend - and another for a fun workshop in the future (putting it here now so you can sign up by the deadline) 1. Central: Hong Kong Maritime Museum Family Fun Day x...

Hello Reader Who else has been enjoying the breezy weather and kids back at school? πŸ™‹πŸ»β™€οΈ Ngl, I've been a little quiet on the social media front the past month - trying to soak in the memories with my kids and also just pooped afterwards but now that they're back in school I'm gonna try a little harder (whilst still balancing the desire not to burn out creating content haha) so stay tuned! Also, I wanted to share something personally exciting for me - scroll down to the bottom to read more!...
