πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰ HK Family Activities 11-12 July πŸŽ‰

Hello Reader

Happy summer holidays, everyone! The International Arts Carnival has officially kicked off as with summer holidays and ALL the free activities that come along with it. Let's go!

1. Sai Kung: Po Lam Fire Station Open Day

This is the good stuff β€” fire trucks, rescue dog demos, escape room games, and kids get to climb all over the vehicles. Free entry, no booking needed, just show up and let them live their firefighter dreams. If you're feeling adventurous, you can even combine it with a general Sai Kung day trip for a HK city escape. Gets busy, so GO EARLY and bring snacks for the queues!

πŸ“… 12 July, 10am-5pm πŸ’²Free πŸ‘‰ Details

2. Kowloon Bay: International Arts Carnival β€” "Starchitects" by Motionhouse (UK)**

Five kids turn cardboard boxes into rockets and blast off to space β€” told through acrobatics, digital projections, and zero-gravity choreography. This is the IAC's big opening show and the part I really like is that it involves using cardboard boxes and semi-relatable(?) stunts - i.e. hopefully it'll provide some inspiration for my kids when PNS next delivers πŸ˜…

πŸ“… Sunday, 12-7pm πŸ’²Free! πŸ‘‰ Buy tickets; Youtube

3. TST: Hong Kong Kids Disco!!!!

Yes, a proper kids' disco! DJ, lights, dancing, goodie bags β€” held at Marco Polo Hotel. Two sessions available. No idea how it'll turn out but if you enjoy having dance parties with your kid at home, why not expand that thought? Also indoors so yay aircon!

πŸ“… Saturday 11 July, 2-4pm or 4:30-6:30pm πŸ’²$148+ πŸ‘‰ Here

4. Sai Ying Pun: "My Living Room, My Little Universe" Exhibition + Artkids Tour**

What would the world be like if the chair at home had wings? In this exhibition, the kids become lead designers, collaborating with local artists on an adventure that turns imagination into art and (apparently?) real objects? And if that's not enough, on Sunday there's a special guided tour LED BY KIDS (ages 6-12 trained as guides) and there are also sensory play sessions led by artists too (registration required)!

πŸ“… Now until 19 July, 9am-6pm πŸ’²Free! πŸ‘‰ Here

Hello Reader Is the weather finally getting a little cooler? My fingers are crossed! πŸ˜… Here's my picks for the upcoming weekend - proud to say I learnt something new today which is that dino fossils were discovered in HK (I'm picturing T-Rex roaming around Wanchai)! Also included a couple upcoming runs that require pre-registration, as well as a pub quiz for a good cause! 1. Tsuen Wan: D-Park baby carnival If you've got a crawler at home (6-25 months), this is their moment to shine. Free BB...

Hello Reader First red rain on a school day - I guess we're lucky that this year has had minimal weather related disruptions (so far!) but I am in awe of how HK parents deal with this on a regular basis during typhoon season! Thank god for condo indoor playrooms and light rain play πŸ˜… Anyway, here's my picks for the upcoming weekend - and another for a fun workshop in the future (putting it here now so you can sign up by the deadline) 1. Central: Hong Kong Maritime Museum Family Fun Day x...

Hello Reader Who else has been enjoying the breezy weather and kids back at school? πŸ™‹πŸ»β™€οΈ Ngl, I've been a little quiet on the social media front the past month - trying to soak in the memories with my kids and also just pooped afterwards but now that they're back in school I'm gonna try a little harder (whilst still balancing the desire not to burn out creating content haha) so stay tuned! Also, I wanted to share something personally exciting for me - scroll down to the bottom to read more!...
